WEC Energy Group is a Wisconsin-incorporated diversified utility holding company whose subsidiaries provide regulated electric and natural gas distribution and renewable energy primarily across Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, and Minnesota. The company also holds an approximately 60% equity interest in ATC, an electric transmission company operating in those four states. WEC operates through six reportable segments encompassing Wisconsin-based electric and gas utilities (WE, WPS, WG, UMERC), Illinois gas utilities, Minnesota and Michigan operations, and nonregulated renewable energy through subsidiary WECI. Electric utility operations generate and distribute power across southeastern, east-central, and northeastern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The company expanded significantly with the 2015 acquisition of Integrys.
