Sempra is a holding company whose principal businesses are regulated electric and natural gas utilities in California and Texas. Its Sempra California segment includes SDG&E, which provides electric service to approximately 3.6 million customers and natural gas service to approximately 3.3 million customers across a roughly 4,100-square-mile territory in Southern California, and SoCalGas. Its Sempra Texas Utilities segment comprises an 80.25% interest in Oncor and a 50% interest in Sharyland Utilities. Sempra Infrastructure holds LNG, energy network, and low-carbon assets in the U.S. and Mexico.
Formed in 1998 through a combination of Enova Corporation and Pacific Enterprises, Sempra operates across more than 100 geographic markets through its subsidiaries. Its strategy centers on the largest U.S. economies — California and Texas — targeting stable, regulated cash flows and earnings visibility. SDG&E's electric infrastructure includes 2,018 miles of transmission lines, 24,210 miles of distribution lines, and 158 substations, with 3,900 MW of combined import capability.
