SBA Communications is an independent owner and operator of wireless communications infrastructure, consisting primarily of tower structures, rooftops, and other antenna-supporting sites. The site leasing business, which contributed 97.9% of total segment operating profit in 2025, involves leasing space to wireless service providers and managing rooftop and tower sites under contractual arrangements. A secondary site development business assists wireless service providers in building and maintaining their networks.
As of December 31, 2025, the company owned 46,328 towers with an average of 1.8 tenants per site. Principal operations are in the United States and territories, with additional towers in South America, Central America, and Africa. During 2025, the company divested operations in the Philippines, Colombia, and substantially all of Canada. SBA has been developing towers in the U.S. since 1989 and has owned and operated towers for its own account since 1997.
