Huntington Ingalls Industries is America's largest naval shipbuilder, operating through three segments: Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, Mississippi, which designs and constructs non-nuclear ships including amphibious assault ships, surface combatants, and national security cutters; Newport News Shipbuilding in Virginia, handling nuclear ship design, construction, overhaul, and repair; and Mission Technologies, providing C5ISR systems, AI and machine learning solutions, cyber and electronic warfare capabilities, unmanned autonomous systems, and training solutions.
The company conducts the majority of its business with the U.S. Government, primarily the Department of War. HII is the sole builder of amphibious assault ships for the U.S. Navy and one of only two constructors of Arleigh Burke class guided missile destroyers. The company employs over 44,000 people domestically and internationally, and is headquartered in Newport News, Virginia.
