Boeing is one of the world's major aerospace firms organized into three segments: Commercial Airplanes (BCA), which develops and produces commercial jet aircraft including the 737, 767, 777, and 787 for airlines worldwide with the 777X and 737-7/737-10 in development; Defense, Space & Security (BDS), which researches, develops, and modifies military aircraft, weapons systems, strategic defense and intelligence systems, and satellites; and Global Services (BGS), which delivers supply chain management, maintenance, modifications, spare parts, pilot and maintenance training, and digital analytics to commercial and defense customers globally.
As of December 31, 2025, Boeing employed approximately 182,000 people, with 14% located outside the U.S. and approximately 72,000 union members covered under 32 independent agreements with nine unions domestically and 18 employee representative bodies internationally. The company holds a broad intellectual property portfolio spanning each of its business segments.
